Xerox Creates New Legal Hold Tool
E-discovery consulting team helps corporations and law firms better prepare for litigation with OmniX™ Legal Hold
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Nov. 9, 2011 – Xerox Litigation Services (XLS), the e-discovery division of Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX), is helping legal teams improve their legal hold processes with its new OmniX™ Legal Hold, a web-based system that eases a traditionally labor intensive process.
Using OmniX Legal Hold, corporate legal departments and outside counsel can build automated, consistent and repeatable workflows to notify employees of legal hold notices, report on the status of legal hold acknowledgements and produce detailed reports with audit trails of all communications. The distribution, tracking and status reports are now completed without the time-consuming manual intervention and follow-up often associated with ensuring compliance with legal hold requirements. The tool is built on the highly customizable and scalable web-based OmniX review platform used by tens of thousands of law firms and corporate users.
“We’re focused on helping companies better prepare for litigation and manage the e-discovery process using the right combination of tools, approaches and technical expertise,” said Sheila Mackay, XLS senior director of the e-discovery consulting group. “OmniX Legal Hold helps bring greater efficiency and defensibility to our clients’ e-discovery processes – including the duty to preserve potentially relevant information in anticipation of litigation or a regulatory investigation.”
Mackay leads XLS’ e-discovery consulting division. It was created to better meet clients’ needs, bringing strategic, legal, technical and project management expertise, tools and proven processes to assist corporations and law firms with all aspects of e-discovery. Legal hold management, litigation readiness, identification, preservation, collections strategy, early data assessment, FRCP Rule 26(f) meet-and-confer support, defensible data reduction and search consulting services are provided.
